Campaign launched to tackle drink and drug driving over festive season
A Christmas drink drive campaign has been launched in Hertfordshire targeting drivers who may be tempted to drink and drive during the party season.

It aims to inform motorists of the consequences of drinking or taking drugs and then getting behind the wheel. It also serves to warn anyone tempted that if they do drink and drive, they are very likely to be caught and arrested.

The campaign builds on the launch on Friday (November 30) of the Commissioner’s first formal campaign activity, Operation CallBack, which aims to tackle the danger of using mobile phones at the wheel.

Commissioner Lloyd said: “I met with the dedicated staff of the Roads Policing Unit on Friday to discuss the priority that I am placing on cracking down on crime and dangerous driving on our roads. Driving whilst impaired by drunk, drugs or distraction by mobile phones will not be tolerated on the roads of Hertfordshire.”
