PCC approves extension to Herts Chief Constable's contract
Police and Crime Commissioner David Lloyd has announced a one-year extension to the Chief Constable’s contract.

The decision was advised at last night’s Police and Crime Panel meeting which took place in Watford. Chief Constable Andy Bliss was appointed in June 2011 for a five year fixed term contract, which was due to expire this June.

The extension will ensure continuity of senior leadership in the Constabulary and a continuing focus on performance through and beyond the PCC elections in May 2016. The extension enables decisions about the longer term leadership of the Constabulary to be made after the PCC elections take place.
