PCC statement in response to misconduct hearing
Police and Crime Commissioner David Lloyd has responded to the today’s verdict which sees two Hertfordshire Constabulary officers found guilty of misconduct.
In today’s hearing, the panel found PC Stuart Francis was found guilty of gross misconduct and PC Rishi Patel of misconduct.

Commissioner Lloyd said: “This has been a very difficult case for all involved and it is important to remember that it arose following an incident in which Christian Lee Thompson suffered life changing injuries and our sympathies must be with him and his family for that.
“It is always disappointing when Hertfordshire police officers fail to live up the high standards we expect of them and these officers will rightly face sanctions for their action. I am sure that the chief constable will reflect on any lessons that can be learnt from what has happened and I will hold him to account for doing so.
“I believe the fact that this hearing took place in public demonstrates how seriously complaints against the police are taken and the firm action which is taken as a result.”
