PCC Praises Dog Team BraveryPublished 05/10/2016
A dog handler and police dog have been praised for their quick thinking and bravery by the Hertfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner.
David Lloyd said the police handler and his dog Finn were a credit to the service, after they were injured in a police operation in Stevenage last night. Finn was stabbed several times and PC Wardell was also injured after pursuing a suspect.
Finn underwent emergency surgery this afternoon, which the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Dog Unit says appears to have been a success. He is now recovering after the operation and is being closely monitored.
The Police and Crime Commissioner is being updated on the condition of the police officer and Finn, and wishes them both a speedy recovery.
